3 Weddings and a Baptism

Doesn't that sound like the makings of the next great Mormon flick? I want to say we just returned home from our second wedding of the year, but it's been three weeks and I just barely took the pictures off my camera. So, in June we attended our second wedding of the year. Geoff's brother John was married. It was lots of fun and we got another great sister-in-law, Angelena and her beautiful daughter Chanzy. We finally got to see Tom (Baby Lomax, Gladys whatever you want to call him), Geoff's youngest brother, who got home from his mission the same time Kate was born. The kids were thrilled. Emily and Nathan remembered him and Ryan warmed up pretty quickly. Now we are planning Emily's baptism, it's freakin me out that she is already 8. We thought we'd make a weekend of it and bless Kate as well. There's lots going on. I'll post pictures of these events later. So going from the title, by the time the year has ended we'll have been to three weddings (none being closer than 12 hours from our home) and a baptism!

Here's the lovely couple and Chanzy with Geoff's parents.

And here's the boys. Greg and all his sons, including two adoptees Matt and Matt. Hurry up ladies there's only two available.

Tom has that effect on some people.

Greg and Connie have had a big year. Not only has two daughter-in-laws joined the family, they've also gotten three grandchildren as well. Here's Chandler and Kate.

Emily, Megan and Morgan were having a great time at the reception.

Our Preschool Graduate

Our little man Nate graduated from Preschool this week. It was actually a cute little thing they did and he was quite proud of himself. They asked the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up and we had to make little cutouts of them as that person. So he wanted to be a "police cop" the day we asked. Of course the day we go to turn it in he said he wanted to be a guy who drives dump trucks, so I assume it will change again. :)He'll be our big kindergartner next year, it's hard to believe. It seems like I always say that when the kids hit their milestones, but time just goes by so fast! I'd like to think I'm enjoying every moment of their childhood, probably not, but I'm trying. I struggle to find the balance between mother, wife and just being me-- along with all the other roles that are expected of us outside the family. If anyone has figured this out yet I'd love to hear about it. Anyways, this post was supposed to be about Nate so here's some pics from his big night. :)

Some of you may recall how I wrote that Nate was constantly being chased by the girls at his school. Well here they are. Nate doesn't seem too bothered to be around them.

This is Nate's best buddy Jack. They have been buddies since they were two. It's just dawning on Nate that they won't be going to the same school next year (after 3 years of preschool together) and he's pretty bummed out about it. At least they have soccer to look forward to.

Coming Out of the Fog

So I have those blessed five minutes to myself where I can actually type with both hands. A rare moment anymore. I have come to discover that four kids is a circus! When I was pregnant I had many people tell me that four is really no different from three, but I'm going to give it to you straight--it's a zoo. You are completely outnumbered so you may as well throw in the towel. :) I'm thinking those folks were just being nice and didn't want to distress a pregnant lady into labor.
I've been tagged twice now so I thought I would pick the easier one and answer that, sorry Julie. :) Here's 7 facts you may not know about me:

1. I've lived in 6 different states

2. I've traveled to 7 different countries (and loved it!)

3. I was in a commercial for British Airways--although you would never be able to pick out who I was

4. I've pulled a handcart and decided I would never had made it as a pioneer

5. I'm the only kid in my family not named for a family member (ooh I'm getting desperate)

6. I love Mountain Dew and Josh Groban (ok most of you who know me know that)

7. I play the organ for my church every few months (now that's scary)

Now I tag: Rindee, Emily A, Risae and Amy A

So I've grouped everything into one blog--multitasking at it's best. Here's some of the lastest pics of Kate. She is already growing way too fast!

Kate is staring at her mobile in this one. All the kids have seemed to love that thing. I'm glad we've held on to it.

Ryan has adjusted really well to his new sister. He likes to hold "it." Sometimes we can get him to say her name.

Emily donated her hair to Locks of Love this past weekend. 11 inches they cut off. I don't know who was more shocked her or me.

Ok, a couple more pictures. I can't help it, she's just too cute!

More Pictures

I just wanted to post some more pictures of Kate. She is thriving and seems to like her new surroundings-at least we hope so. We are all doing pretty well and everyone seems to be adjusting to our newest family member. I could do an entire blog on the frustrations of breast feeding, but I'm too tired to do it now. :) Enjoy the pics!

She's Here!

We are happy to announce the arrival of Kate Estelle Adams. She was born Tuesday, April 22 at 3:23 a.m. The labor and delivery really couldn't have gone better. She was a healthy 7 pounds 13 ounces and 20.5 inches long. We are just loving her! Here's some pictures with more to come!

Doesn't Nate just look thrilled?
Ryan is very enamoured with this baby. "Be Gentle," is something he will be hearing--a lot!

No Baby Yet....

Well no baby to report. Just a huge belly! Hopefully we'll have something exciting to report after this weekend.

Even though I don't have pictures of it, I have to report on a baby shower we went to. It wasn't mine, but Geoff's. It was really funny ladies to see these guys playing the silly games that we always play at these things. Geoff looked hilarious in his pink shirt and "overgrown belly" opening cute little bags with baby clothes in them. He was a great sport and I have to say it was probably the most enjoyable baby shower I've ever been to. All the pictures are on my friends camera, so when I get them, I'll be sure to post. Of course, Geoff may have paid her off and I never will see them. We really are grateful though for all the good friends we have who have shown love and support to us in this very exciting time.

Baby news coming, stay tuned...........

3 Weeks and Counting

Well we are in our final countdown. I'm feeling almost ready to have the baby, but then my list of things I want to get done before hand keeps growing. Why do I do this to myself? My sister says it's because I'm a Type A. I never was one of those before, but I'm starting to believe her. Control, control, control. Ok, that's a little scary.

This last week was spring break and we had a lot of fun with the kids. It was just nice having them around and I'll admit I was a little sad to see them go back to school today. Both Em and Nate learned how to ride their bikes so we spent lots of time outside watching them race up and down the court.
At my last appointment my doctor said my blood pressure was a little elevated (maybe I am becoming a Type A.) But everything else was pretty good. I'm trying to use the blood pressure thing as a way to get to sit around more, but it doesn't seem to be working. Mostly it's self inflicted. I guess it serves me right. ;) Well that is all from here. I wanted to add a cute video from Ryan's birthday (yes I know it was a month ago). It was too long for my camera so you don't actually see him blow out the candles, but it was pretty funny. Someday I'll learn to edit these things. Add it to the list right? Then there are some pictures from Easter. Lots of fun!
Alright the video didn't work. Stay tuned.
