Halloween Fun

Emily has been planning a family Halloween party for the last couple of months and was excited to have it this past Friday. I should have taken more pictures, but we did have alot of fun. She made cute little snacks, had fun games planned and we finished the evening with pumpkin carving. I think everyone had a great time.

We had our church's trunk or treat this weekend. The kids had lots of fun and looked cute. Surprisingly their costumes this year were some of the easiest. It's nice when they can do some of it on their own.
Turkey dinner anyone?

Poor girl, she's just so tired!

Looking good Mr. Fredrickson.

How can you not love a witch like that?

X-Country

When I was a kid, I hated running. I mean hated it! My lungs would burn, I'd cough forever afterwards; the list could go on and on. Funny enough I have found as an adult that I really enjoy running. Saying I love it would be a stretch and while I'm actually running I question my sanity, but for the most part it has become something I like to do. So what do you do when you find something you enjoy doing? Drag everyone within reach down with you! Therefore I have signed my kids up for X-Country this year. This is Nate's second year running. He actually loves running. Emily wasn't so sure, but she has found herself really enjoying it this year as well. Ryan has even said that he wants to run next year, yay! What I really like about X-Country though is the fact that it is cheap, the "games" are over in less than 10 minutes (per kid) and there is not alot of extra equipment needed. Just a good pair of shoes. Enough said, here they are, running their little hearts out.

Ok I'm Back....No Really

Alright, I have been MIA for the last year and I feel somewhat bad about it, but it's been an incredibly difficult year so I'll leave that as my excuse. I am going to start with the beginning of this school year and if I actually stick with my goal and stay caught up I may go back and try to cover last year as well.

 Emily 7th, Ryan 1st and Nate 4th

Ah, what a cutie and much to my relief loves school this year, phew!

Wouldn't you know it the one who usually loves school isn't as into it this year. Go figure!

Kate is in her last year of preschool. Time flies!

Can I just say how much I love the new Blogger? Wow, this makes it much easier to post. Emily is doing her second year of homeschool. So poor kid didn't really get her first day of school picture. I'm just glad I remembered to stick her out there with the boys. All the kids are doing pretty well this year. Nate is not loving it, but Ryan is. I guess not everyone can be happy.
More to come.....

Catching Up!

There should be an award for lamest blogger ever. Lots has happened. The kids have been very involved in activities and school. I'm just going to recap the last couple of weeks. Ryan graduated from Preschool and Emily graduated from Elementary school. Nathan got an award from his baseball team as best clutch player. Ryan and Kate started swim lessons, and actually like them!
Blogger is being super lame right now or I would have some more pictures. Emily also had a spring chorus concert which was cute and if blogger ever shapes up I'll post pictures of that, but here's what I got for now.

Does he look ready for Kindergarten?

Seriously, I can't get blogger to cooperate today.

Ryan and Kate at the pool. All smiles!

My done with elementary school girl.

We've been lucky to have her at a great school with great teachers!

Ryan's Birthday

Since today is Kate's birthday I thought I should post Ryan's birthday and then I'll post hers, just to keep it fair. Ryan had a great day. He's obsessed with all things Star Wars, so that's pretty much what he got. He is such a cute little boy. He'll start Kindergarten in the fall and I can hardly stand it. Time has gone by way too fast.

Some Good News

I don't have much to report as far as activities. I mean there is always an activity going on. Both boys are playing baseball and Emily is running track this spring, so our Saturday's are pretty much shot until May. We have had good news though. My dad, who has been battling esophageal cancer, was given a clean bill of health. In other words he is cancer free! The chemo and radiation were brutal, but they did what they were supposed to do and we are very grateful. He has been living with us since his treatments ended in January as he's recovered from everything. I mean how much motivation is a house full of loud kids, right? I mean to get out of a house full of loud kids. I guess you can take that any way you want. In February I was able to stay with my sister Amber for a week to help her out after her baby boy was born. It was fun to take care of a newborn for a while. Other happenings: Winter Jam with Emily's chorus, Ryan's birthday (ok I feel like a schmuck for not posting someting about that, I'll get on it), Monster Truck Rally (I'm really sorry I missed that) baseball games and track meets. As always, life marches on and we are staying as busy as we want to.

Ah, my cute baseball players.
